! I love these kiddos more than I could have ever imagined. Excited to celebrate turning five with them at the Mickey party tomorrowKimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-8866132905454864372015-10-11T14:37:00.000-05:002015-10-11T14:37:46.966-05:00October 2015A year gone by in a flash, filled with wonderful memories I want to remember forever. Aug 2014- Sept 2015 has been a year filled with a family trip to the mountains, gymnastics, soccer, t-ball, lots of swimming and a surprise trip to Disney world. I have once again let too much time go by between posts, but better late than never. Following our summer beach trip last year, kids began Kings Kids school and loved it. They were in Mrs. Amanda's class and had so much fun learning and meeting new friends. Braden, Brooks and Kate showed off their athletic sides with soccer with daddy as assistant coach. Halloween was fun with Braden as Michangelo Ninja Turtle, Brooks as Superman and Kate as Ariel. As the Christmas season approached, we planned to go on Polar Express Train with Pops and Losi. Kids were very excited to ride on the train and see Santa. We were loaded on train awaiting our departure when Braden fell limp into my arms and began having a seizure. After the scariest 10 minutes of my life, Braden began coming to and we were taken by ambulance to Vandy children's hospital. At Vandy, they determined Braden had experienced an afebrile seizure due to a sudden spike in temperature. He was stable and discharged that same evening. At follow up appt with our pediatrician we discovered Braden had the flu which was likely cause of fever spike and seizure. Scary times I will never forget. Times like this in life help me remember what is truly important in this life. After the flu ran rampant through our house (we all fell victim to flu of 2014) we had a wonderful Christmas, blessed more than we deserved. With the start of 2015 came fun times with playing in the snow. Kids continued at Kings Kids and Braden and Kate wanted to play soccer again in the spring (Brooks preferred to be on the sidelines with a book:). Soccer in the 4 y/o league was a little more intense than we had seen the previous fall with Kate losing interest and Braden showing a new timid side. As summer approached, Braden and Brooks tried out T-ball with Pops and Daddy as their coaches. They had fun and learned a few basics about the game. The kids took swim lessons with Mr. Rick and after a rough start (literally screaming for mommy to help and me having to walk away) the kids did great and by end of the week were swimming with no floaties! Summer continued with lots of swimming and a fun trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains with the Cox family. The kids returned to Kings Kids this fall for their last year of preschool before they begin Kindergarden next year. They are in Mrs. Heathers class and learning so much to get ready for "the big school". Kate resumed gymnastics, but has had to stop with casts being put on both of her feet (for 8wks!) to try to break her from her habit of toe walking. 4 days in cast so far and she is doing great, such a trooper with not even a single complaint so far. The most fun we have had this year would have to be our trip to Disney world. We surprised the kids with a day to Magic Kingdom and a breakfast with Mickey and friends. It was an exhausting day, but so much fun seeing the kids faces light up with excitement. Hard to believe the holidays are just around the corner again. Kids have decided on Halloween costumes for this year with Kate wanting to be Aurora from Sleeping Beauty (her all time favorite princess), Braden wants to be the Hulk and Brooks wants to be David (David and Goliath). Kate loves all things pink, Princess anything and Barbie's. Braden loves sports, helping his daddy and Ninja Turtles. Brooks loves anything Bible related (esp David and Daniel), books and is great at creative play. They all love swimming, riding their bikes and playing on iPads.<br />

Already July! Where has this year gone? As I am writing this, we are on our way home from a fun family weekend in Gulf Shores. So far the drive home has,thankfully, been much less eventful than the drive down. I will just say that 2 hrs into the trip 2 of the kids had peed on side of the road, 2 had urinated in an empty bottle in vehicle(I know, don't judge me please:), one missed the bottle and peed on mommy, Brooks was shirtless after spilling juice all over him 5 minutes after getting into car, Braden had no pants on after getting urine on them and I had been in Chick fila 2x for additional potty breaks! Whew! Makes me exhausted just remembering it! I just kept laughing and reminding Travis that these are "memories"...right? Right. These are the best days of our lives!<br />
Since my last post, kids have finished up their first year of MDO at MTSU. They will begin Kings Kids next month for a longer day, still 2 days a WK, MDO/preschool program. Savannah Moss has been a great help with the kids so far this year, stepping in when Ms. Barbara couldn't return. We will really miss her next month when she leaves for college!<br />
We are so glad to be done with diapers and potty training! Excited this expensive and messy phase is behind us...now we just need to work on boys aim:)<br />
The kids all started a gymnastics class in the spring that they really enjoyed! We are taking a break now and have signed them up for soccer next month. Not sure how it will go, but hopefully they will enjoy it!<br />
Quick update on everyone...<br />
Braden- 38 in tall, 35lbs and still All Boy! He is very much a daddy's boy who is as rough as any boy. Loves to wrestle and has recently shown a competitive side with any kind of physical activity. He still likes Thomas and trains and when asked what he wants to be when he grows up he responds "Thomas". Despite his rough side, he is still my most sensitive child.<br />
Brooks-37 in tall, 30 lbs lover of all Books! This child Loves to read and play with iPad. He knows how to turn the charm (& whining) on and off to suit his needs, I mean wants, and has a "sad/pouty" face that is nearly impossible to discipline. He says he wants to be a Preacher when he grows up and still loves his Bible stories.<br />
Kate- 39 in tall,33 lbs. She is still a "princess", but has recently added ballerina to her list of what she wants to be. She still loves her Teddy and babies and shows more of a mothering side(to the boys) everyday. She can beat both of her brothers at a race and colors the prettiest picture these days, working so hard to stay in the lines. She is terrified of bugs during the day, but loves to catch fireflies at night.<br />
Travis and I had a great trip to NYC in February, doing the typical touristy attractions while Freezing to death! The family also took a weekend trip to Chattanooga with the Cox family to see a baseball game and the aquarium.<br />
The past couple days at the beach have been great. Life gets so busy at home and it is so fun to let it all go a few days and have some much needed family time.<br />
I am excited to finish the summer with more pool days, VBS and the arrival of my nephew, Charlie!<br />

Thanksgiving began in Tullahoma at Aunt Donna's house with my dad's family then concluded back in Murfreesboro at Pops and Losi's house. We have been so blessed this year and are thankful that we get to celebrate the day with all of our family.<br />

By the weeks end, we had attended 6 different Christmas' with family and added more toys than we deserve to our home! Kids were totally into Santa and Mr. Elf this year, finding Mr. Elf "Lucky" was first priority upon waking each morning. All the kids wanted a bike this year, in typical fashion, Brooks wanted a "Noah" bike (eventually we talked him into a green bike bc we had no luck finding any kind of Noah bike), Braden wanted an orange bike and of course a Princess bike for Miss Kate. Santa came through and they all got bikes, along with other toys to add to the clutter of our home:) Brooks got more Noah/Bible books than<em> </em>I can count, Braden loaded up on more Thomas trains for his set and Kate added to her princess and baby doll collection. I got a new camera, so maybe I will do a better about updating pics on the blog....but doubtful:) 2013 has been a WONDERFUL, CRAZY, BUSY year...looking forward to 2014!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zyyw2jgOjJE/Ur73IhporoI/AAAAAAAAAgo/BXayoKbIKgo/s1600/DSCN0057.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Zyyw2jgOjJE/Ur73IhporoI/AAAAAAAAAgo/BXayoKbIKgo/s320/DSCN0057.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jhd6YSHxRHg/Ur73SBC5vSI/AAAAAAAAAgw/c8tRIfbPzWY/s1600/DSCN0028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jhd6YSHxRHg/Ur73SBC5vSI/AAAAAAAAAgw/c8tRIfbPzWY/s320/DSCN0028.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hhOh2Bl0aM0/Ur73V4jU-lI/AAAAAAAAAg4/VkkAPJPpW_E/s1600/DSCN0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hhOh2Bl0aM0/Ur73V4jU-lI/AAAAAAAAAg4/VkkAPJPpW_E/s320/DSCN0006.JPG" width="240" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZjdSZnTBmi0/Ur74drmyA4I/AAAAAAAAAhU/877Gh75z3Do/s1600/DSCN0113.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZjdSZnTBmi0/Ur74drmyA4I/AAAAAAAAAhU/877Gh75z3Do/s320/DSCN0113.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

I have enjoyed every exhausting, crazy, hilarious moment of the past 3 years and would not change it for the world! Braden, Brooks and Kate- you have brought so much joy and love to my life and I love you all more than you will ever know! Happy Birthday! I love you!<br />
The kids birthday party theme this year was a ' three ring circus' , so very appropriate and fitting for us these days. Despite a cough and some runny noses, kids had a great party and have now filled the house with more toys-time to clean out!!!`<br />

Our summer was good, filled with lots of time outside on the kids new swing set, riding toys, and swimming. In the midst of all this fun, we did have a good 2 wks of illness in June which included pink eye going through all 3 kids and myself (all at different times spread over 2 wks of course) and a respiratory infection. All this illness, ironically, began on my 30th birthday, confirming the stigma that comes with this birthday milestone...."everything downhill after 30!"...Surely Not! Thankfully, by the time the busyness of July hit,we were all well. The kids completed their first session of swim lessons this summer with Ms. Sue. They did well and had a great time swimming with Travis and I nearly every day for 2 wks (yes, Travis and I had to be in pool with them for this class since they are so young....Travis was very happy when this session was done!) . VBS was also in July, with focus on Fruits of the Spirit. The kids loved VBS and were so excited each night about going to Bible class. We were all pretty exhausted by the time July ended, but I am thankful we were able to do so much! August has consisted of a couple weekend trips for Travis and I, so the kids have had lots of time with grandparents lately. I am so very thankful and grateful for wonderful parents and in laws who love my children and are willing/want to keep them to allow Travis and I some kid free time every once in a while. On a whim, I also decided to switch kids bed from crib to toddler bed a couple wks back. I had been putting this off out of total fear of the havoc it would wreak on our bed and nap time routines, but they love their big boy/girl beds and have transitioned much better than I ever expected. They actually follow my rule of " no one gets out of bed until mommy comes to get them" (for now anyways). Brooks' latest thing is to go sit in his bed and read his Bible story book. The first time he asked to do this, my heart melted. He is such a sweet, funny little boy, who is so much like his daddy in so many ways...he needs his quiet alone time too. Not much quiet time around our house these days....Brooks just needs to escape every now and then. Braden is obsessed, i mean really obsessed with the color orange right now. I have no idea how or why this love for the color orange came about, but I do know that he will ONLY wear the orange PJ's, ONLY eat off of the orange plate with the (broken) orange fork, and wear orange shorts and an orange shirt most days of the week ( at home only, I have to put my foot down before letting him leave the house looking like a giant orange!) I am hoping this love for orange will fade soon, but it has been a good 2 months so far and I see no sign of it fading at this point. Kate is really into princesses and dolls these days and tells me regularly that she is saving her piggyback money to go to Disney world....she came up with this all on her own! She really wants to go see the "princess castle" at Disney world and visit Mickey and Minnie's house:) Oh, the mind of a child, so innocent, sweet, fun-loving, imaginative. I want to hold onto these childhood thoughts as long as possible.<br />
In the upcoming weeks, kids will begin SCHOOL! Ok, not really school, actually it is called an infant/toddler class for a few hrs 2 days/wk, but to the kids it is School:) They are so excited to start this class in a couple wks and mention going to school at least daily now. I am excited for them because I know they will LOVE it, but am kinda sad my babies are growing up. My babies,that oh so quickly correct me these days when I call them "my baby." " I am not a baby, I am a big boy/girl" is the response I hear every time and every time my response in return "As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be".Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-65803509857731339882013-05-14T22:29:00.011-05:002013-05-14T22:29:58.314-05:00May 14, 2013~ 30 months oldWhat a slacker I have been with my posts this year! Between work and kids, 2013 has been pretty busy so far! We recently took kids to the beach for the first time. We had a great trip and enjoyed the quick getaway with friends Drew and Becca Cox. The kids loved the sand, the water and playing with their friends Kinslee and Colton. I was pretty worried about the 7.5 hr drive to Gulf Shores, but we managed. The ride down went pretty well....not so well on way back home. I am pretty sure I climbed from the front seat to the back,to tend to one of the kids, 500 times....well, at least 30 or so! Overall, it was a grat trip and I look forward to the next time we are able to take them to the beach! Easter and Mothers Day have come and gone. The kids had a lot more fun with egg hunt this year and loved getting their treats in the eggs! They are understanding more these days and were pretty excited about Easter Bunny bring them a basket of goodies.<br />
Quick individual update:<br />
Kate: pretty much potty trained for past couple of months, but still has occasional accidents. Loves to play with her kitchen, watch TV....Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and princess, play outside and read. Just tonight I heard her singing and realized she was singing the books of the New Testament-so proud, but pretty sure Gigi gets credit for this one:). Her new favorite saying..."You're my best friend" is so sweet, but watch out bc she will change her mind on her best friend before you know it!<br />
<br />
Brooks: started using potty this week and is doing Great! No accidents all day today:) he will do whatever it takes to get a Treat! He still puts up the biggest fight about resting and would rather go ByeBye than stay home any day of the week. He may be my social butterfly as he even cries at times when we are pulling in neighborhood bc he knows we are almost home. I try not to take offense to the fact that my 2 year old hates being/returning home. He LOVES playing outside hitting the ball and "riding his bike" (tricycle). His adorable smile and sweet facial expressions can still melt my heart.he still likes to be held more than the other 2. I try not to give in all the time, but know this will not last much longer so am enjoying holding. And cuddling with him while I can.<br />
<br />
Braden: still so sweet,yet so strong! The 2 year old boys' strength really amazes (and kinda scares) me sometimes! He loves to wrestle with his daddy and climb and jump on anything he can find....boys will be boys! He has a pretty good arm on him, so i have learned to watch out if he has the ball! He also loves playing ball with daddy and is getting a little better at catching. He doesnt quite get the potty thing yet, but is willing to sit on the potty in attempt to get a treat-no treats thus far, but hopefully he will catch on soon. His latest saying is "Nevermind" in response to a question he does not want to answer. He still loves his elephants and sleeps with them every night. He likes "BIG trucks", puzzles and my iPad.<br />
We have just ordered a playset for backyard which should be up soon. I know the kids will love this and I look forward to summer and being able to get out of house a little more. Plan to do swim lessons this summer as well, so we will see how that goes!<br />

Thankfully, with these challenges come some of the most wonderful, hilarious, sweetest moments we have experienced so far. Once we are able to recover from a COMPLETE meltdown over getting an orange bowl instead of blue one OR watching Thomas the Train instead of Mickey Mouse clubhouse OR insisting on having the ball your brother has-even though you have the exact same ball in your hand; we have wonderful moments of playing hide and seek,sitting down and reading a book, singing Jesus loves me, dancing around the house with momma, wrestling with daddy, hearing the kids say their prayers and/or playing our new game "pop pop pig" (named by the kids:). I love hearing them sing songs (favorites at the moment-Jesus loves me, twinkle twinkle, baa baa black sheep) and "read" their books to themselves. Their personalities continue to emerge daily, with Braden being my tough/rough yet timid and reserved child. He still loves to sleep and is not much of a morning person. He loves to color and is definitely a "lefty". Kate- a very much so girly girl who loves her babies and stuffed animals. She has recently learned her letters and is able to name every letter and numbers 1-10! She likes to correct her brothers and I think will be "motherly" to them as they go through this toddler phase. Brooks is still pretty much fearless. Unfortunately, he is still pretty clumsy, so clumsy and fearless= accident waiting to happen! Luckily, the little guy is pretty tough and handles the many bumps,bruises and scratches he has suffered very well. Brooks new saying this wk "Thank you sooo much" is just adorable. He still likes to get up earlier than the other two most mornings and eat a bowl of Cheerios in mommy and daddy's bed while I get ready for work. Love these little kids more than words can express! I want slow time down and always remember this time when my babies are such sweet innocent children.<br />
2013 is moving right on by and I can hardly believe Feb is already almost over! I have been pretty busy the past few wks working on some things for the house. I got a crazy idea to redo/paint our dining room furniture and move it into kitchen. I am very pleased with how well it all turned out and think it fits well in our kitchen area. Next project will be to refurnish my now empty dining room then I will tackle the kids rooms. I am learning that a house is a constant 'work in progress' and is never done, so no reason to rush....it will get done when it gets done:)Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-48125522040635116642012-12-19T16:10:00.000-06:002012-12-19T16:10:14.066-06:0011 days before Christmas 2012<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Wanted to share this poem I heard earlier today. Very moving and uplifting when thinking about the terrible tragedy that occured just less than 1 week ago in Newtown. I am still terribly saddened by this unthinkable act of evil and very thankful for every day I am given with my precious children.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
<b>11 Days before Christmas 2012</b></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
T’was 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
When 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“This is heaven.” declared a small boy. “We’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
But Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
And in that moment was joy that only heaven can bring</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Those children all flew into the arms of their King.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
One small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
And as if He could read all the questions she had</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“May this country be delivered from the hands of fools,”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Then He and the children stood up without a sound,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
“Come now my children, let me show you around.”</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.</div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: left;">
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,</div>

I love the shopping, wrapping Christmas gifts, Christmas music and receiving Christmas cards in mail from all of our wonderful friends and family. A new tradition has also made this year even more fun for myself and the kids. The first question I hear each morning is "where elf"? I was hesitant to get an elf this year, thinking they wouldnt understand it, but boy do they! They love coming downstairs each morning to find their elf, usually somewhere "way up high"-- to keep them from being able to get him down. Our elf is unnamed at this point, and goes by "Mr. Elf", but hopefully will have a proper name by next Christmas. The kids are really big on "baby Jesus" right now (I think it is due to a combination of bible class and some Christian videos we have that they LOVE!) and when I asked what they wanted to name their elf, they immediately said "Baby Jesus".....after trying to explain to 2 year olds why our elf could not be named baby Jesus, I decided to stick with Mr Elf for the year and let them try again next year! Travis is gone for the weekend on a hunting trip that he has been looking forward to for quite a while, leaving me to referee the little ones alone. I hope he has a great time because he definitely owes me big after this! Even though he is gone, we have a fun Saturday planned with Kate and I going with friends Becca and her dtr Kinsley to a program, while the boys spend the morning at our church kids Christmas party. Next weekend, we are planning to take the kids to Shrek on Ice with wonderful friends Adam and Lane Booten then having our first "Christmas" with the Morris family. I know it is stereotypical, but I cant help but think how blessed we are, especially this time of the year! Merry Christmas!<br />

The day was wonderful filled with a house full of a wonderful family, 3 happy toddlers and more toys than we have house for:) Though it was a little (okay, a lot!) crazy at times, the kids were great and LOVED all their new gifts! I am so thankful to be part of such a loving, generous family! Looking forward to the holidays that are now just around the corner!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-77362314390487963132012-11-17T21:46:00.001-06:002012-11-17T21:46:14.484-06:00Fall Fun 2012-10/22/12The past month has been filled with some good and memorable times. Travis and I ran our first Warrior Dash with friends Drew and Becca Cox. It was a fun and dirty 5K run filled obstacles and mud pits you must get through to cross the finish line. We have been trying to soak up the beautiful fall weather lately, attending MTSU football games, playing outside and having a blast with our first time fingerpainting (which turnied into bodypainting) with Lane. The kids were so funny with the fingerpainting activity and really showed their personalities that day. Kate, of course, loved the paint and did not hesitate to dive in and get dirty. Braden was pretty much indifferent, painting a little here and there. Brooks was hilarious, not wanting to get too dirty or get paint on him.<br />
Kate has hit a new stage--the "I want no one except momma" stage. Honestly, I do love how much she loves me right now (as I know this is only a stage that she will too soon outgrow), however, it does make the balancing act of sharing myself b/t all 3 of them a bit more difficult. I figured out just today that Kate and Braden are getting their 2 year molars which has also increased their aggitation level. Kate has been waking up 2-4 times every night for the past 2 weeks and Braden has been literally chewing on his fingers. I am sure Brooks will have his soon as well, as he has started drooling nonstop lately.<br />
Braden had his first haircut last week. His hair on top is not too long, but he was starting to delevop a mild mullet in the back, so we had to get a trim! He was so good! He sat in the chair like a big boy, not fussing or whining even one time! I was so proud of my sweet little handsome man. Brooks joined Braden and had his 2nd cut and did great as well! I was one proud momma, getting to tell people that both of the handsome boys were mine! <br />
We had our family/ 2 year old pics taken last week. To say the photo session was TERRIBLE would be quite the understatement. As we arrived for the photo session, I felt calm and prepared. Everyones clothes had been ironed the night before, I had all the necessary accessories with me and even decided to bring some props of my own for some photo ideas I had. It is funny/sad/frustrating how quickly all my plans went right down the drain. Everyone gets out of the vehicle looking so nice and in I thought good moods. I planned the kids day around the pics, so everyone would be rested with a full belly and ready for great pics. We had practiced our "CHEEEESE" face for 2 weeks and thought we were ready for the day until we walked up to meet our photographer (who did great on our pics last year) and her husband who was with her to assist. The next thing I knew, I looked down at Kate (who was of course in my arms) and realized she had closed her eyes and would not open them to look at the photographer. I think she thought it was funny at first, as she was acting a little shy, hiding her head in my shoulder, but for the life of me, I could not get the child to open her eyes! So, here we are with the photographer and one of my children has decided to squeeze her eyes shut and will not open them for anything! Thankfully, Brooks and Braden were loving the camera that day and doing a great job hamming it up, which gave me time to try to coax Kate into opening her eyes. Eventually, after abour 20 min of her literally walking around with her eyes closed (holding my hand of course), she decides to open her eyes, but would still not step 2 feet away from me. Oh the frustration, knowing you are paying good money for someone to come take your kids pics, and then have your daughter act this way! She finally opened up a little and gave us a couple very brief periods of smiling, hopefully enough to have at least one decent shot of her, but our photographer definitely earned her pay that day. I havent seen the pics yet, but am not getting my hopes up too high that we have a lot of good shots after a day like that!<br />
As I looked through the calender earlier today, to see what we had going on in the next few weeks, I realized that the holiday season is rapidly approaching. Between Halloween, Kids SECOND Birthday!, Thanksgiving and Christmas--the rest of our year is looking pretty busy! Over the next few weeks, I want to savor my ONE year old babies. This year has passed by so quickly and I can not believe they are almost 2! Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-63845481500167435922012-09-07T22:16:00.001-05:002012-09-07T23:30:34.630-05:00So long summerHard to believe that summer 2012 is officially over! It was a hot summer, we were able to enjoy some good times outside ("outeye outeye" per my kids); but I am now really looking forward to some cooler fall weather. I love all things fall--beautiful fall colors with changing leaves, fall food, football and fun holidays.<br />
<br />
This summer was filled with more "firsts" for the Morris triplets. Our first trip as a family to the Nashville zoo, first outing to the Discovery Zone with Lane, first haircut for Brooks, and our first family camping trip to Fall Creek Falls. We did quite a bit of swimming/splashing at Pops and Losi's/Gramps and Gigi's pools and had fun cooling off in our own baby pool as well. <br />
<br />
As the kids continue to grow, they reveal more and more of their unique, individual personalities. Kate is definitely a "girly girl". I came home recently to find her wearing multiple bracelets (toy rings) on each arm prancing around in my shoes---Adorable! She still loves her baby and Teddy and doesnt go anywhere far without them. She needs to have her booboo's kissed and prefers to be "lolo" (lotioned) regularly. Her vocabulary grows daily and has progressed to 2 and 3 word sentences now. She has learned to say "hold me" and therefore, wants to be picked up a lot now! She repeats anything said around her and loves to sing (often hums the tune of Twinkle Twinkle). She knows her colors and can count to 3 (sometimes:)--sorry for so much bragging, remember this is written by a proud mama! Brooks still loves to look at books and "read" them aloud. He loves to play "upsairs" on the slide and has mastered the color/shape sorter puzzle. His vocabulary is also growing daily . He loves playing with our phones and began saying this word ("phone") just this week. Braden loves working puzzles and is great at buiding towers with his blocks (future engineer???). He also likes to look at books and push anything not nailed down to the floor (including his brother and sister at times!) I believe his vocabulary is comparable to Brooks, neither are quite as extensive as Kates, but definitely evolving on a near daily basis.<br />

They are all great at playing together sometimes, but other times (more often than not lately) they prefer to fight over a toy/item the other one has (for example, I have 4 different mops/brooms--enough for everyone!, but each time I pull one out to mop, all 3 will fight over the same broom/mop!!! ) The tantrums have begun occurring more frequently and are much more dramatic lately. I feel we are just entering the terrible 2 stage and honestly fear what we have in store for the next year (or two). I feel the " time out chair" will be a frequently visited spot in our house over the next couple of years! It seems no matter how hard I try to get everyone up and ready in time to be anywhere, we usually end up late. I am still using the triplets as an excuse....I figure I can blame them for my tardiness for at least another 3-4 years:)<br />
Everyone had a good check up except, of course, for the shot at the end of the appt. Braden remains my biggest weighing 26LBS! Kate is right behind at 24lbs and Brooks 21lbs. I knew Braden was quite a bit bigger than Brooks, but I did not realize he was 5lbs bigger. I am so proud of these sweet kiddos and so thankful for their continued overall good health and development. <br />

<br />Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-49081153592946043772012-05-26T09:38:00.000-05:002012-05-26T09:43:31.070-05:00Triplet: a set of 3 (totally different!!!) itemsIt has been a big week in the Morris household--the kids hit the 18 month milestone, Travis and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary, and I started a new job. We are so blessed and reminded of God's love daily through the innocent, sweet spirit of our children. <br />
Although Braden, Brooks and Kate were all crammed together in my belly at the same time, were born on the same day, and have relatively had the same experiences since they entered the world...Boy, are they DIFFERENT! Their personalities seem to emerge more everyday, revealing the differences between these triplets.<br />
<br />
<strong>Kate</strong>, my precious, loving, thumb sucking, sassy pants is living up to her "red head" persona these days. She is mostly a sweet little girl who loves her teddy and tells you "night night" when she is ready for bed; but recently, her "sassy" side has emerged revealing a feistier side to my beloved little girl. She has learned to say "no no" and likes to tell the boys this when they are doing something they shouldn't---I think we will know who will be in charge:) She seems to have a harder time sitting through church and has begun "mini tantrums" to get her way. The sassier side comes on full force when she is tired! We recently attempted to go eat at a restaurant with my grandmother for mothers day.....bad idea! Travis was unable to go, but my parents were going, so I thought I could handle it...I was wrong and it will be a while before we enter a restaurant again. The boys did pretty well, but Kate was tired and a pistol to say the least. She did not want to sit down and preferred to roam the restaurant "reading" her book to strangers at tables nearby. Thankfully, most of the tables around us were empty and those that did have customers were very nice and understanding.<br />
<br />
<strong>Braden, </strong>my strong, energetic, fearful, lover of food, occasionally affectionate, sensitive, son. Braden is a fun, energetic little boy. He has a smile that literally spreads from ear to ear which lights up his entire face. He still loves his " Mr elephant(s)" and paci when it is time to sleep. He is a GREAT sleeper and often has to be woken up for meals. He loves to sleep or even just lie in his bed and play until someone comes to get him. He has always been a bit of a "clinger" when you hold him (he wraps his legs around you and squeezes so you cant put him down) and likes to fidget ( squeeze/pinch the back of my arm when I am holding him or mess with my fingernails). He loves to please others and gets really proud of himself when he puts something in the trash. He is also the best at the "clean up" game and will actually put toys up when asked...although they typically come right back out. He is scared to death of the vacuum and Swiffer mop which mean I am usually holding him as I vacuum or swiffer the house.<br />
<br />
<strong>Brooks,</strong> my fearless, clumsy, cuddley, daddy look-a-like, whiny, occasionally shy son who loves books and going outside. Brooks is and has really always been the best cuddler of my 3 kiddos. He knows how to curl up on you and snuggle just right to make it nearly impossible to put him down. He has mastered this technique with his Losi and Gigi especially. He loves looking at books and will sit and look at the same book for 15-20 minutes some days. He is a bit clumsy, but this is not totally his fault...his feet are slightly inverted (turned in) which causes him to trip quite a bit more than Braden or Kate. I feel sure this slight inversion will correct itself as he grows, but until then, I am a nervous wreck watching him play outside just waiting for the next tumble. Despite his clumsiness, he is fearless ( a bad combination!). He climbs in, around, and over anything he can find and likes to navigate obstacles on his own without any help. He is whiny. I feel kind of bad saying this, but it is true. He whines to be held multiple times a day, most days. I say whine because they are rarely tears involved in these fussy spells. He loves Macy and Mo ("Mamy and Mo") and scares me when he gets a little too close to them to try and pet them.<br />
<br />
This post has ended up quite a bit longer than I was expecting, but I want to be able to look back in the future and remember the different stages we went through. I know if I leave it all to memory, much of it will be forgotten. I am nervous as we approach a new stage with smarter, more independent, much more mobile triplet toddlers, but I am also very excited to watch them continue to grow and learn daily.Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-58020890555713799682012-05-04T22:27:00.001-05:002012-05-04T22:33:07.524-05:00Fun Fun FunOnce again, it has been way too long since my last post. I somehow completely missed updating any post/pics in April, but will add some of our Easter pics soon. April was a good, busy month. We had a wonderful Easter and were blessed to be with our family for good food and a fun egg hunt. <br />
Quick update on Travis and I. The Pallet Co is going well keeping Travis very busy. I am so proud of him and his ability to run a successful business in this tough economy. As for me, I have taken a new job in Lebanon. I will still be working in the same setting (SNF), but will be about 20 min closer to home working with a former boss. This change could not have happened at a better time, as my current company recently lost its contract with McKendree. Once again, God has provided, opening doors as he closes others--very blessed!<br />
Now to the kids---where to start??? They are all doing well and still just so much fun! They are pretty good eaters, although some days are better than others. They love "cackers", muffins, "nanas", spaghetti and Ketchup is an essential with eating chicken. They are not too fond of pizza yet....I am sure this will change soon!<br />
They love playing "boo" and hiding behind furniture. They still love books and sometimes will sit still for 10-15min (i think thats pretty long for a 17mo old!) just looking at books. They are literally "reaching new heights" these days...into all of my kitchen drawers!! They love brushing their teeth, but hate when I take the tooth brush away. <br />
Their vocabulary seems to grow everyday and they are definitely understanding more of what is going on around them. They imitate a lot and already seem to decide when they want to do what someone asks, or do the opposite...they like to turn around and run from me when i ask them to "come here".<br />

We are really looking forward to the summer and having some fun in the pool!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-6522218405328603912012-03-15T20:49:00.000-05:002012-03-15T20:49:46.512-05:00March 15, 2012Life in the Morris household seems to get busier every day! As the kids have gotten older and the weather has been wonderful outside, I have tried to get them out of the house a little more for some much needed fresh air and social interaction. <br />
Last weekend we took our first trip to Memphis to visit Ashley (well, technically 2nd trip since the last time I went, I was pregnant). Travis had extra work to do at the Pallet Co, so mom went with me and the babies to Memphis. We had a great time and I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Ashley and mom. We took the kids to the park on Friday and went to the zoo on Saturday. I loved playing with the kids at the park, watching them play on the slide and climbing up and down on the jungle gym (with me and mom close by!). Brooks and Kate loved the swings, but Braden was terrified!. He was so funny, with a look of pure horror in his sweet little face as he was holding on to the swing with a death grip. The kids are still a little young to really know what was going on at the zoo, but they had fun just getting out and strolling around. Although it was a lot of work to take the weekend trip, it was well worth it! <br />
Yesterday, I decided to take the kids to visit Papa at Adams Place. He has been a little more lonely lately and I knew he would love the company. He was eagerly waiting for us when we got there and immediately began showing the kiddos off. We never actually made it to his room, but strolled the halls a bit and visited some of his friends while we were there. It has become a little easier managing all 3 of them, now that they all can walk (Forgot to mention--Brooks is Walking!--He really began walking more a couple weeks ago and is walking more than he crawls now!)---that is until they decide to run away from me! <br />
Kate has just discovered how funny it is to run away from momma--She wanted to walk the halls yesterday at the Adams Place and pranced around like she owned the place:) and the minute I would tell her to come to me--she would look at me, laugh, and go faster in the other direction....Kate has also become more independent with eating and often gets mad if I try to help her with her food. I have recently said "when she is sweet, she is the sweetest baby you have ever seen; when she is mad--watch out". We will have to get this temper in check soon! As far as development, Kate is doing great. Her language skills are taking off and she is now saying a couple 2 word sentences (Byebye Dada, Night night dada). Kate's other common words right now are ball, bath, Ma (Max), Papa, Momma, Dada, cracker, Hi, Byebye and teddy. She loves books, bathtime, her teddy bear, and sucking her thumb.<br />
Brooks has really made some progress in the past couple of weeks as well. He is walking most places now and only sometimes crawls when he is tired. His vocabulary is not quite as large as Kate's, but he is babbling A LOT more these days. He says ball, Ma (Max),dada, momma, hi and bye bye. He really seems to like getting into things these days (toy box, dresser drawers, kitchen cabinets,etc.) and loves riding his pony! He still prefers to have someone feed him and is not quite proficient yet with a fork/spoon. He also has begun showing us his temper with dramatic tantrums when he does not get his way. He has always been a little on the dramatic side, so I fear what kind of embarassing public temper tantrums are in our future. <br />
Braden has made the most progress in recent days with his speech, primarily animal sounds:) My favorite thing to do right now is ask him what a sheep says. When you ask him, he replies with the most intense BAAA sound you have ever heard--it is great. He can also make pig, duck, cow and dog sounds on request ---if he wants to. He really likes playing in, around, under, over... our tall kitchen chairs. He uses them as his own personal jungle gym, climbing all over/around them.<br />
We will have our annual review with TEIS next week to assess goals and write new ones. I am confident we have achieved all goals thus far and am unsure how much longer we will be able to receive the services. I do not necessarily feel the kids need the intervention services at this time, however, am grateful the services are available.Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-72963311791406694202012-02-24T12:23:00.000-06:002012-02-24T12:23:26.172-06:00Fifteen month updateThis week, my not so tiny babies turned 15 mo old. They are so much fun right now--most of the time:)--and seem to learn something new almost every day. Brooks has decided to attempt walking, but still prefers crawling for now. He has taken about 4 steps on his own so far,but then decides crawling is much easier and he is back on all 4's. Braden has become much more proficient with walking and walks more than he crawls now. His language has also taken off in the past couple of weeks. Not so much saying words that we can understand, but a whole new babble that has definite meaning to him! Kate has mastered walking and rarely crawls these days. Her 2 top molars came in over the past couple weeks which has led to some extra (understandable) fussiness. We had our well check this week which meant the highly anticipated "weigh in" as well as the dreaded shots. Braden is still my biggest weighing 22.4lbs, Kate right behind at 21.4 and Brooks bringing up the rear at 19.4lbs. MD said there is no concern with any of the weights at this time. He said that Brooks weight has been consistent and since his height is on the chart, there is no reason for concern. In my opinion, Brooks is not gaining weight as quickly bc he rarely naps and NEVER sits still. The child is constantly on the move. They are all 3 great eaters, so thankfully this is not an issue. Overall, check up went great!<br />
The unusually warm weather this week has given me a bad case of spring fever--really looking forward to getting these babies out and letting them play in the sunshine!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-55586991790807458302012-01-28T21:19:00.000-06:002012-01-28T21:19:34.583-06:00January 2012Wow! Cant believe it has been a month since my last post--and I cant believe January is about to come to an end- Already! Everyone says "the older you get, the faster times goes by"--I am only 28!!! I can not imagine how quickly the days will pass in 10-20 years! <br />
Well this month has been a pretty good one. We had another round of cold/fever/cough/runny nose spread between the kids in mid January. It lasted about a week, but we made it through. We have had approx 1 week of good health since then, so I figured it was about right when I picked up Brooks earlier today and could immediately tell he had a fever (101.9) UGHH!! Here we go again!<br />
Exciting news....Braden is walking! Braden decided to take his first steps Thursday (1/26/12). He has been very close to taking off for the past few weeks, so I knew he would be on 2 feet teeter-tottering around soon. Brooks is not quite ready to walk, although he has definitely been showing more interest in trying to walk in the past week. I feel sure he will be up moving like the other two very soon! Kate has become even more steady on her feet and walks much more than she crawls these days. She is still a very sweet baby girl who loves to "give love" by hugging, kissing, blowing kisses. Her latest trick is being able to identify and name a duck AND say "quack quack" (which actually sounds more like dquack dquack"). <br />
We attempted our first weekend trip with the kids this month. Last weekend we took a short trip to Gatlinburg with my parents, brother and sister in law. We had a great time, especially since Gramps and Gigi offerred to keep the kids in their condo, leaving us a room to ourselves and 2 good nights of sleep:) The packing required to take 3 babies on a simple weekend trip is overwhelming. Our vehicle looked more like we were moving to Gatlinburg, rather than staying only 2 nights. Despite all the work it took to actually get there, we had a great time. The kids did pretty well. Kate definitely knew she was out of her usual setting and off schedule, but overall did good.<br />
2012 off to a good start--cant wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-66731440625256261702011-12-29T21:45:00.000-06:002011-12-29T21:45:42.986-06:00Christmas 2011If I were to use one word to sum up Christmas 2011, I would use "blessed". If I were to use two words, I would add "Busy"! Although this was not technically the kids first Christmas, it was the first Christmas we were able to be together as a family. The crazy holiday weekend started off Friday night at Pops and Losi's house and didnt end until Sunday night. Between Friday night and Sunday, we attended SIX Christmas's! I say we are Blessed for so many reasons--but largely because of our wonderful families with which we were able to spend Christmas. We are so thankful that all of our family lives close, so we get to see everyone on Christmas, however this makes for a chaotic holiday. Packing a car for a day trip with 13mo old triplets feels like you are packing for a month long vacation--pack n playsx3, bumbo with traysx3, clothesx3, extra clothes x3...you get the idea., BUT it is so worth it! <br />
Memorable moment from the weekend--as we were traveling from Christmas #5 in Lewisburg to #6 in Chattanooga, we learned that one of our children does not handle curvy roads very well. I wont go into detail, but lets just say Braden did not tolerate the hilly, curvy roads well. We had to strip the poor little guy down outside in the cold and clean his car seat with wet wipes after he decided to lose his lunch in the car. Needless to say, the car had a terrible odor for the remainder of the ride!<br />
All in all, the kids did great with all of the activities. They were so tired from the extra excitement that they were able to nap and sleep well. I look forward to Christmas in the future when the children understand Santa and wake up at the break of dawn Christmas morning to see what Santa has brought them.Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-17520297455405640332011-12-18T22:09:00.000-06:002011-12-18T22:09:55.891-06:00Stomach bug hits the Morris Home HARD!Over the past year I have made note of many "ups and downs" in our crazy life. Thankfully, the "ups" far outweigh the "downs", but we are going to need a lot of positivity in the next few weeks to outweigh this past weekend:) <br />
The entire Morris household was hit with the stomach bug. It all began Friday morning when I woke up feeling a little uneasy. I brushed it off, but knew it was more than "a headache from being tired" when I went to get Brooks up and found he had been sick over the night (poor baby). I wont give a play by play of the entire weekend; but sick, smelly, cranky, and just plain Gross pretty much sum it up. Luckily, Travis and I timed our illness perfectly (I was sick on Friday and then Travis got it on Saturday) so someone was able to take care of the kids while the other was laid up in bed. My wonderful mother was a HUGE help, but unfortunately became ill on Saturday night. Within 3 days, all 5 of us + my mom and dad got the bug. The women seem to handle the "bug" a little better than our significant others (my mom and I were better 24-36hrs after symptoms began, where as dad and Travis are still not up to par). The kids have been very cranky (understandable) and dirty (we will just leave it at that:)<br />
I feel like we have used more Lysol this weekend than the past year combined and my hands are literally hurting from washing them so much. I feel sure that this will not be the only stomach bug that wreaks havoc on our house, but I sure hope that the kids are potty trained by the time we are hit by the next one!<br />
On a positive note, I am thankful that the illness hit us this weekend, rather than next weekend (Christmas)!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-13230365012374339582011-12-04T17:49:00.000-06:002011-12-04T17:49:22.973-06:00December 4, 201112 Month Check up last week went well. They all still weigh 1 lb apart weighing 20lb 10.5oz-Braden, 19lbs 11oz-Kate, and 18lbs 11.5oz-Brooks. They have been very consistent with their weight gain so far. Kate hit a big milestone last week when she was the first to take off walking. She is getting better everyday at tetter-tottering her way around the house. Braden will attempt 1-2 steps, but then decides crawling is much easier. Brooks walks all around the house with push toys (or boxes, or whatever he can find), but has not attempted walking independently just yet. I still cant believe my babies are ONE! They are doing great with solid foods and are still very good eaters (I am crossing my fingers that they will stay this way!). The most difficult issue we are facing right now is the constant cough, cold, runny nose,etc. They just cant seem to get rid of the cough and runny nose--although I am totally over it! MD said they are not contagious, but Kate still sounds pretty bad when she has a coughing episode. I am hoping this will pass soon, but fear we may have a few months of the "crud". I attempted the transition this week from bottle to sippy cup (since we were able to move to whole milk), but...this did not go as well as hoped--actually, it went terrible. All 3 of them decided to scream until they received their milk in their bottle, so I gave in and went back to bottle. I have heard that sometimes you have to try different cups to find one they will like, so the search is on for the perfect sippy so we can get rid of all of these bottles! It is hard to believe that my little pumpkins are 1! ONE, not months anymore, but we are now counting by years! How is it possible that an entire year has passed since the morning I woke to find my water had broke? A year since Travis and I were making our daily trips to the Baptist NICU, a year since I was alternating nights with my mom sleeping on the hardwood floor to listen for babies and keep them on their 3 hour feeding schedule. A YEAR! Oh the difference a year can make!<br />
As I think back over the past year, I am overwhelmed with emotion and the feelings of thankfulness, joy, fatigue, anxiety, sadness and love. Some of the happiest and hardest moments of my life have occurred over the past year, and I would not change it for anything. Every scary, anxious, tired, hard moment of the past year has been completely outnumbered by the wonderful, happy, joyous, funny moments. I would like to say that the past year has been easy...but I won't. The past year has been hard, sometimes very hard; however, I feel sure that all first time parents experience hard times during the first year. The hard times that we experience on a weekly/daily/sometimes hourly basis have been made much easier by the help of family, friends and a strong faith in God. I have said many times over the past year that we would not make it without our wonderful family--I am sure I would be a crazy (or crazier) woman without them!<br />
One year ago today, when God blessed Travis and I with the greatest gifts I could imagine, our lives were forever changed. Goals and priorities shifted, "alone" time became a very rare treat and our grocery bill tripled! BUT I now understand "a mother's love". I feel so blessed to be able to experience this kind of love that is like no other.<br />
As time continues to fly by and we begin our second year with these precious babies, I cant help but be a little sad. Sad that we are done with "the baby phase" (a phase that we will probably never have in our house again). I am sad to they are outgrowing the sweet baby swings and bouncy seats and moving on to mobile toys, but progress and growth is all part of life. I am thankful for their lives and the challenges they have brought into my life. I love you (Braden, Brooks and Kate) more than you will ever know--Happy Birthday!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-23287213801085319922011-10-15T07:29:00.000-05:002011-10-15T07:29:23.183-05:00October 15, 2011--A year of BlessingsOne year ago today was one of the scariest days of my life. October 15, 2010 was the day I went in for my scheduled 26 week check up and was put into the hospital. Had I known prior to this appt that I was not going to return home until 6 weeks later there are a few things that I would have done (pack, finalize nursery, clean my house). I remember going in for my US before seeing my MD as usual. As far as I knew, everything was fine, the actual MD appt went well, BUT there was one more US test that my MD wanted to check before I left. Travis met me at this appt, but since I thought all was well, I had sent him home before I went in for the 2nd US. After the US, I was supposed to be sent home, however the US tech told me that my MD would go over the findings with me. A little confused about why the MD wanted to see me again, but not really worried, I returned to her office. The next thing I knew, I was hearing her on the phone outside my room admitting me to the hospital. <em>WHAT? I must have misunderstood--everything had been fine just a few minutes ago, why did I need to be admitted to hospital? </em>Dr. Saig came in and calmly explained to me the findings of the US (placenta insufficiency for baby C--Brooks) and said that it was time for me to go on to Baptist. I lost it immediately. I still didnt really understand what was going on, I just knew that I was scared. 26 Weeks was way too early for my sweet babies to come into this world (and much sooner than my original [slightly unrealistic] goal of 35 weeks). <br />
The next five weeks were filled with many ups and downs. I had incredible nurses and doctors who took wonderful care of my babies and I. I am still very thankful for all of the prayers that went up for my family. Unfortunately, it is often in time of need when you (I) really fall to your knees and see how much you need faith in God and the support of a wonderful Christian family. God is so good and has blessed us with 3 healthy babies. <br />
Thank You to all of my friends and family who have gotten us through this past year--we are forever grateful for your love and support!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4112251218197210015.post-78432734206529845682011-09-17T16:35:00.000-05:002011-09-17T16:35:57.209-05:00"Fall" has a whole new meaning this year!As we enter fall of this year, I realize that our fall season is going to be filled with many "falls" (not to mention the bruises and bumps that go with it) . A house with (almost) 10 month old triplets is an accident just waiting to happen. They are fearless and into EVERYTHING! Just today, I discovered they are no longer safe anywhere except their cribs. They began climbing out of bouncy seats (while strapped in) a few wks ago and just today I found Kate climbing out of exersaucer with her head inches fom the floor! Although this phase is a little scary for me, it is also so much fun (well...most of the time). It is so awesome watching them grow, explore and learn about the world around them. <br />
MD checkup this week went great! Braden weighs 18lbs 8oz, Kate is 17lbs 11oz and Brooks is 16lbs 2 oz. Brooks is still lagging behind a little with wt, however, I am sure part of this is due to his high level of activity. He is small and VERY ACTIVE which I think is preventing him from putting on as much wt as the others. MD said everything was looking good and he was pleased that they seem to be hitting all of their milestones on schedule. We scheduled our next appt for their 1 year check up!! Cant believe our babies are almost one! <br />
As far as life for Travis and I, things are going well. The rest of the year is filling up fast and I am afraid it will be Christmas before we know it! We are really looking forward to our trip which is coming up in a few weeks, but I am already nervous about leaving the little ones. I know they will be fine, but it still makes me a little anxious when I think about leaving. <br />
I know I have been awful about updating pics, but extra time is pretty rare these days...hope to have some on here soon!Kimberlyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00740656120750716085noreply@blogger.com0
